Lita Rossana Ford (also called Lita Ford is an American guitar player and singer born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist for The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all females in the late 1970s. Their punk rock music and raunchy lyrics made them recognized by the rock world. The group did not have any fans within the United States. However, their popularity grew overseas and especially in Japan. Ford embarked on a heavy-metal solo career following the band's broke up in 1979. After taking vocal lessons, Ford released her first single album "Out for Blood" and then "Dancin in the Edge". Ford was unable to achieve anything with either of them and disappeared from the world of rock for a decade. Ford returned to the scene with her hit album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, the popularity of her career was not lasting and over the course of several years she disappeared. Her release of Black in 1995 was followed by fifteen-year delay for the album 'Wicked Wonderland. In 2016, she released her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
