Zoe-perry
Perry is born the 25th of July 1968 in Chicago, Illinois to Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. Perry made her debut in television shows as Jackie Harris, a character that was played by her mother on Roseanne, an ABC comedy Roseanne. Fearing stress, her parents were not keen to let performing before she turned 18. Perry admitted that she wasn't comfortable acting in high school, but started performing as a means to connect with new people during her time at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, relocated to New York in search of TV roles. She landed small parts in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homelessness led her to California in search of theater jobs. Perry was a part of the cast with her mother in The Other Place at Broadway at the end of 2013. Kevin McKidd, her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie together with her in 2015. Perry starred in nine episodes of ABC's drama The Family. Perry was a regular character in the ABC drama about politics Scandal which starred her father. She played a younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off series that was part of the CBS show The Big Bang Theory was another younger portrayal of her mother. The part was offered to her through audition, even though she was a cousin to the role.
