Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actress, singer and songwriter for a number of years. Her family was home-schooled by her mother within the USA. Her childhood was filled with racist insults, she was made to feel unwanted. When she attended a 9th grade school audition where she received high praise for her singing and acoustics, she began to gain confidence. Not only did it boost her confidence but her dreams changed. At the age of 22, she graduated from the New York's Julliard School. Her professional career began at the age of 23 in Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and You've Got Mail in film. The character in The Lady of The Lake is her greatest breakthrough, bringing an award for her performance, an award called the Tony Award in addition to the acclaim of critics for her performance. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC her role was given greater fame. Known as a singer she has also released a single as well as an extended play. In addition, she's an activist who works hard in the fight for LGBT rights.
